Q:Do workers need to be trained to use portable fire extinguishers?
A: Yes. All employees must be regularly (at least once a year) informed about the fire hazards and fire protection tools (fire extinguishers, wall hydrants, alarm systems, etc.) present in their work area, as well as given instructions on what to do in an emergency (clear the building, escape and escape routes, assembly point), in accordance with Section 12 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the rules of the China Social Accident Insurance Association. As part of their first training, new hires must learn about the most crucial operational fire protection components. Documentation of the instructions is also required.
