CO2 tank for welding is a tank filled with CO2 gas which is use for welding.Carbon dioxide gas welding is one of the welding methods, which is based on carbon dioxide as a protective gas and welding method. Because of its low cost and easy production of carbon dioxide gas, it is widely used in various enterprises. It has the advantages of low welding cost, high production efficiency, simple operation, high weld cracking resistance, small deformation after welding, small welding splash, so this welding method has become one of the most important welding methods of ferrous metal materials.
The purity of CO2 gas used for welding shall be ≥99.5%. CO2 is usually put into tanks in liquid form. When using tanks, pay attention to the following aspects:
1. Prevent high temperature of gas tank. Gas tanks should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight, heating, fire and other heat sources, and the ground temperature should not exceed 31℃, so as to avoid liquid CO2 gasification to form high pressure gas, overpressure explosion.
2. Gas cylinders cannot be placed lying down. When the gas cylinder is lying down and the pressure reducing valve is opened, the liquid CO2 will flow out and quickly gasify, which is easy to cause the pilot pipe to burst.
3. The gas cylinder accessories are intact. The pressure reducing valve, connector and pressure regulator are properly connected and in good condition without leakage or damage.
4. Carbon dioxide shall not be overcharged. The filling amount of CO2 liquefied in temperate climates should not exceed 75% of the cylinder volume, and that in tropical climates should not exceed 66.7%.
5. Use legitimate gas cylinders. Check whether there is a cylinder code on the shoulder of the cylinder. A cylinder without a cylinder code is an illegal cylinder, and it is difficult to investigate civil liability after an accident.
6. The gas cylinder cannot be used beyond the expiration date. The inspection mark under the Angle valve or on the bottle shoulder indicates whether the inspection is expired.
7. Confirm whether there is carbon dioxide in the cylinder and whether it is overfilled. Check the warning label and filling label to confirm the gas contained in the cylinder.
