Welding gas cylinder typically refers to an argon tank or cylinder, but it can also refer to an argon mixed gas cylinder for MIG or TIG welding. If you want to do a welding job but don't know which cylinder to use or what size to use, use the Mid-Star welding gas cylinder if you're new to MIG welding. You should buy a larger argon tank than you first thought.

Contamination can result in poor quality work-piece welds, so selecting the right gas is critical to achieving the best results. For the best results, different metals require different types of gas; in most cases, a 75/25 mix of argon and CO2 will yield good results on most metals. Argon provides a stable arc in general, but with wider and shallower weld penetration.
